The early-bird special ends tomorrow for The Connecticut Mirror’s statewide public policy event, “Small State, Big Debate: Race,” which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Fairfield University.
The event will feature New York Times columnist Charles Blow as the keynote speaker and include sessions on criminal justice, education, health care, data and housing. The event will focus on the question: “How will public policy impact diverse populations in Connecticut in the immediate and distant future?”
The day will also feature a Mirror and TrendCT hackathon, focusing on Connecticut’s racial profiling data, which records every traffic stop in the state. A reception will cap the day’s event.
The event is sponsored by The Tow Foundation, The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund, the Newman’s Own Foundation, The Melville Charitable Trust and the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut.
