Election history: Endorsed by Democrats and cross-endorsed by the Working Families Party, Cook broke Republican Anne L. Ruwet’s shaky grasp on this seat with a convincing 1,092-vote win in 2008. Ruwet won the seat by a single vote in 2002 and was re-elected by only 62 votes in 2006.
