Public financing: Fawcett received $24,975 in public financing for her campaign under the Citizens’ Election Program. She returned a surplus of $8,675.46.

Noted: Fawcett was a legislative aide to Maryland Gov. Donald Schaefer while she attended graduate school at George Washington University.

She relocated to Fairfield in 1999 with her husband and three children and plunged into community affairs. Seven years later, she defeated a Republican who Democrats did not oppose in the previous cycle.

She voluntarily disclosed an addendum that lists debts of more than $10,000 to Wachovia and Countrywide Mortgage.
