Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will name Terry Macy, the executive director of a non-profit that runs group homes, as the commissioner of developmental services today at 11:30 a.m., according to his press staff.

CTNewsJunkie reported the appointment this morning.

The choice was quickly applauded by Terry Edelstein, president of the Connecticut Community Providers Association:

“Dr. Macy has a great deal of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. We look forward to working with him and his team in the months ahead to expand community-based services for people with disabilities, reduce administrative redundancies and provide cost savings to the state through the utilization of community-based services and supports.”
