Gov. Dannel P. Malloy was back in coach today on the 9:55 a.m. flight home from the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. He should have the frequent flyer miles soon to upgrade: He leaves Saturday for a trade mission to China.

The governor’s office announced last month that Malloy accepted an invitation to attend the World Economic Forum Summit in Tianjin, China. The state will pick up the estimated cost of less than $20,000.

He will be gone until Sept. 16.
