One of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s three appointees to the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority today is a lawyer with a stellar resume — and a well-known father and uncle.

Nuala Droney is a graduate of Yale and the University of Virginia School of Law, named by one publication as a rising star in business litigation with Robinson & Cole. Her father is John Droney, the former Democratic state chairman, and her uncle is Chris Droney, the federal appeals judge and former U.S. attorney.

The other appointees are Richard Orr, the UConn general counsel and the former counsel to House Speaker Thomas Ritter, and Kathleen A. Corbett, the found and principal of Cross Ridge Capital.

Mark is the Capitol Bureau Chief and a co-founder of CT Mirror. He is a frequent contributor to WNPR, a former state politics writer for The Hartford Courant and Journal Inquirer, and contributor for The New York Times.
