Courtney reignites ‘Lincoln’ battle
Washington – On the 150 anniversary of the approval of the 13th Amendment, Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, wants Connecticut schoolchildren to know the state lawmakers did NOT vote against the measure that abolished slavery, even though the Steven Spielberg movie ‘Lincoln’ said they did.
Connecticut travel ban lifted at 2 p.m. as storm veers east
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who lifted a travel ban on local roads in Litchfield and Fairfield counties at 8:30 a.m., opened the remainder of the state’s roads at 2 p.m., though he warned that many eastern communities still were digging out from two feet of snow.
