Welcome to Long Island City, Amazon (And maybe Connecticut)
Welcome to Long Island City, Amazon! (And maybe Connecticut.)
We hope you’ll look to high-speed ferries to give your employees great choices on where to live and easily commute from.
Fairfield County can be minutes away via high-speed ferries offering close-knit, small-town communities, excellent universities, terrific public and private schools, and beautiful homes with open space land — giving your new employees wonderful choices where their families can grow.
In fact, the Bridgeport waterfront complex would be a good choice for an ancillary Amazon distribution hub, call center, divisional executive, and R&D center of excellence for both a motivated workforce and for the transportation hub. Fairfield County offers choices Long Island City simply cannot.
We also give you great access to the wide open skies — fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
While a high-speed ferry could operate quickly to Long Island City from multiple docks in Connecticut, Sikorsky Airport (and slightly further up, Tweed airport) would be almost a private air hub for an Amazon complex in Bridgeport. It is virtually “easy on, easy off” I-95 to reach the U.S. interstate highway system, which in Fairfield County, has had major upgrades.
The towns of Fairfield are not just communities, they’re family.
So while we’re happy to welcome Amazon to Long Island City, we know Amazon would be really happy with the welcome their employee families would receive from Weston, Westport, Wilton, Fairfield, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Easton, and the mid-sized cities of Bridgeport and Stamford, to name just a few.
