Background: Joe Aresimowicz is a former union president and one of the biggest allies of the Working Families Party. He came to the legislature after three terms on the Berlin Town Council. In 2007, he was one of only five House members to vote against the budget, complaining it was balanced on one-time revenues and was not sustainable.
