WASHINGTON – Rep. Elizabeth Esty, D-5th District, and her Republican challenger, Mark Greenberg, avoided bashing each other in new TV campaign ads Friday, but Esty used a press conference to start another round in a heated exchange over a campaign e-mail dealing with ISIS and the beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff by Islamic militants.

Greenberg’s candidacy takes a complicating detour
NEW HAVEN – Lots of politicians tell the press and public the truth, if not always the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But Mark Greenberg, the Republican nominee for the 5th Congressional District, may be the only candidate in this election season to actually talk about his political ambitions under oath. His status as a government witness in a high-profile corruption trial could complicate the final weeks of his third campaign for Congress.
On third try, Greenberg finally embraced by GOP
WASHINGTON – It’s a good bet the many pups he’s rescued are no more dogged than Mark Greenberg in his pursuit of a seat in Congress. After two failed attempts to represent the 5th District, he is trying again with new, national support.
