A group of protestors from the immigrant and black communities march in silence down Grand Street in the Fair Haven section of New Haven on their way to city hall to show their solidarity in fighting against racial injustice, June 11, 2020. Cloe Poisson / CTMirror.org
The march was organized by New Haven advocacy groups Unidad Latina en Accion and Black and Brown United in Action. The protestors stood on the steps of city hall silently for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to mark the amount of time a Minneapolis police officer knelt on George FloydÕs neck during an arrest, killing him, on Memorial Day.
