The march was organized by New Haven advocacy groups Unidad Latina en Accion and Black and Brown United in Action, June 11, 2020. Ospina is an immigrant from Colombia. ÒI want to support the rights of immigrants and the rights of people of color,Ó she said. The protestors stood silently on the steps of city hall for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to mark the amount of time a Minneapolis police officer knelt on George FloydÕs neck during an arrest, killing him, on Memorial Day.
