We want to hear from you. The Connecticut Mirror is hosting a community listening session in Bridgeport — a gathering where neighbors can come together to talk about the issues, experiences, and stories that shape daily life in our city.

From schools and housing to new developments, safety, jobs, and the positive things happening in our neighborhoods — this is a place to raise your voice, share what matters most to you, and help shine a light on the stories that deserve more attention.

Whether you want to speak up, share your perspective, or simply listen to others, your presence matters. We’ll provide refreshments and create multiple ways for you to contribute, even if you’re not comfortable speaking out loud.

This event is free and open to everyone, with a special focus on Bridgeport residents who want to raise their voices and help shape the stories being told about their community.

Reginald David is the Community Engagement Reporter for CT Mirror. He builds relationships across Connecticut to elevate community voices and deepen public dialogue around local issues. Previously, he was a producer at KCUR 89.3, Kansas City’s NPR station, where he created community-centered programming, led live event coverage for major events like the NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Parade, and Royals Opening Day, and launched KC Soundcheck, a music series spotlighting local and national artists. Reginald has also hosted special segments, including an in-depth interview with civil rights leader Alvin Brooks and live community coverage on issues like racial segregation and neighborhood development. He began his public media career as an ‘Integrity in News’ intern at WNPR in Hartford.
