Maria Horn, of Salisbury, received her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in 1986, then went on to obtain her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1993. After graduation, Horn spent four years working in corporate finance at JP Morgan & Co. She then worked at Debevoise & Plimpton before becoming a law clerk for a federal judge. The bulk of Horn’s professional career took place in New York where she worked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division. Until June of 2018, Representative Horn chaired the Board of Trustees of the Indian Mountain School in Lakeville, a board which she had been a member of since 2009. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for the domestic violence prevention agency, Women’s Support Services, and went on to chair the Women’s Support Service’s Governance Committee.

Horn was first elected to represent District 64 in the Connecticut House of Representatives in 2018.
