Sen. Richard Blumenthal will deliver his maiden Senate floor speech on Wednesday, a time-honored ritual for all freshman who join the clubby upper chamber.
Blumenthal, a Democrat who succeeded ex-Sen. Chris Dodd, has been treading cautiously in Washington so far. He will be among the last freshman to make an official debut on the Senate floor. (At least nine other freshmen have already given their maiden speech, with two Republicans taking to the floor today.)
The Democrat’s remarks are set to focus on the economy, jobs, and his “fight” for Connecticut families-a trademark line of Blumemthal’s.
You can catch the action on C-Span 2 at noon tomorrow.
