Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, said the Obama Administration’s decision not to release the photos taken of the deceased Osama bin Laden was the “right one.”

He made that statement after getting a glimpse of the pictures himself. The congressman, who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, was among those invited to see the photos and he made the trip to CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., Friday morning.

Here’s his statement after seeing the post-raid pics:

“Upon viewing the photos, two things are clear: the accounts of Osama bin Laden’s demise as told by President Obama and Admiral William McRaven are accurate beyond dispute; and their decision not to publicly release these photos was the right one.”
