Welcome to Jenifer Frank
Our new Chief Editorial Officer, Jenifer Frank, will take the post November 14. Ms. Frank is leaving her position as the Night City Editor of The Day in New London to join CT Mirror.
Prior to joining The Day in 2010, Ms. Frank worked at the Hartford Courant in multiple positions, including – most recently – as the Deputy Metro Editor. From 2006 to 2008, Ms. Frank was the Courant’s Politics/Government Editor, for five years was editor of Northeast (the Courant’s Sunday magazine) and – for the five years before that – the Courant’s Page 1 News Editor.
Raised in Stamford and now a resident of West Hartford, Ms. Frank graduated from Trinity College with a BA in English. Her training has included the Times-Mirror Leadership Institute and the Nieman Conference on Narrative Writing.
Ms. Frank co-authored Complicity: How the North Promoted, Prolonged, and Profited from Slavery (Ballantine/Random House, 2005), a book that is included in the curriculum of a number of colleges and universities. Her three special magazine issues exploring the state’s role in slavery were ordered by the Connecticut Department of Education for distribution in the state’s middle schools, high schools, and community colleges.
