Ticket sales end today for The Connecticut Mirror’s annual event, “Small State, Big Debate: Race” on Oct. 6 at Fairfield University.

The full event will feature New York Times columnist Charles Blow as the keynote speaker and also includes sessions on criminal justice with discussions on the governor’s “second-chance society” and policy research. The day will also feature a Mirror and TrendCT hackathon, focusing on Connecticut’s racial profiling data, which records every traffic stop in the state. A reception will cap the day’s event.

The event is sponsored by The Tow Foundation, The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund, the Newman’s Own Foundation, The Melville Charitable Trust and the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut.

If you are a teacher or administrator and interested in bringing 20 students to the event, please contact Mirror Publisher Brett Orzechowski at borzechowski@ctmirror.org for more information. Each sponsor has purchased tickets for classes in Fairfield County and across the state.
