Rain had been in the forecast on Wednesday — like it seems to have been every afternoon this month — and a number of events were cancelled, including the weekly “Cruise Night” car show gathering at Bart’s Drive-In Restaurant in Windsor.
But the rain held off until after sunset, and the break in the weather was a green light for local skateboarders, who came to the South Windsor Skate Park that afternoon and rode for hours.
