Bridgeport’s Sit & Speak is a listening session hosted by Reginald David, The Connecticut Mirror’s Bridgeport-focused community engagement reporter. It was created to center the voices of residents in an open and honest conversation.

The next Sit & Speak will focus on immigration and what recent changes in immigration enforcement mean for residents and families across the city. The conversation will give Bridgeport residents a space to share their questions, concerns and experiences, particularly around immigration enforcement, knowing their rights, accessing local resources and how families and communities are navigating uncertainty.

The listening session will take place Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Burroughs Community Center. The goal is to hear directly from residents and better understand the information they need, the challenges they are facing and what questions they want answered.
