Connecticut’s new law “Concerning Mental and Physical Health Services in Schools” is supposed to be about kids’ health and wellness. Unfortunately, the teachers’ union added two provisions late in the process that will have a significant impact on our children.

What recourse do public employees have when state officials who aren’t enforcing a law meant to protect them?

What manager would make a public deal to protect someone who steals, participates in domestic violence, discrimination, sexual harassment, excessive force and a host of other nasty actions that betray the public trust? Precious few. But right now, these backroom deals are crafted every day – on the taxpayer’s dime. And it’s time for it to stop.
