The courses would focus on a range of topics including banking, investing and the impact of using credit and debit cards.

The school’s decision comes after a petition, started by the Wesleyan Democratic Socialists, gained more than 700 signatures.

PROUD Academy will open in New Haven next fall — making it one of only a handful of schools for LGBTQ+ students and allies nationwide.
