House Speaker Christopher G. Donovan says he raised $250,000 for his 5th District congressional campaign in the third quarter, bringing his total to more than $500,000.

The Donovan campaign says the average donation was $75, collected from a donor base of of 2,500 for the quarter ending September 30.

The reports for the quarter are not due at the Federal Elections Commission until Saturday, but campaigns like to get out the word when they hit a decent number. An equally important number for this early in the campaign is cash on hand — how much money is left after expenses.

No word yet from Donovan on that.
