State Rep. William Tong, D-Stamford, was unable to generate a second decent fundraising quarter. After quickly raising nearly $600,000 when he jumped into the race for U.S. Senate, Tong reported today that his total for the third quarter was just $155,000.

By contrast, U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy, D-5th District, reported raising $650,000, bringing his total to $2.7 million.

No word yet from former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz. (UPDATE: On Friday, Bysiewicz reported raising $321,812, bringing her total to $1.3 million.

On the Republican side, Chris Shays and Linda McMahon just launched their campaigns. McMahon is expected to report starting out wth leftover funds from her previous campaign in 2010, which ended with $103,000 in the bank.
