Global environmental writer and former New York Times reporter Andrew C. Revkin writes a blog for the newspaper, Dot Earth. Revkin’s covered many of the earth’s environmental hot spots over the years — Amazon rainforests, the transformation of the Arctic, Katrina, etc. — and so he’s worth reading.
Wednesday’s blog, however, is Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s speech this week at an Environmental Defense Fund event honoring the defense department. (The groan and grin line of Panetta’s talk? “And though we are looking at environmental issues, these days I’m a little more focused on the operations of a different kind of SEALs.”)
The speech is a quick read that connects a fair number of dots.
