Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon is campaigning Monday with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at rallies in Stamford, Waterbury and Glastonbury. Other than debates, it is her first publicly scheduled campaign event in weeks.

Christie, who has clashed with Gov. Dannel P. Malloy over their approaches to taxes and state employees, was a primetime speaker at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. McMahon has been careful in accepting help from national GOP figures.

She was joined at a women’s event by two moderate GOP senators, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, and at a veterans event by Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

The McMahon-Christie road show: Stamford Marriott at 1:30 p.m.; Howland-Hughes Co., at 140 Bank Street in Waterbury at 3:30 p.m.; and the Pond House Grille & Banquet at 2935 Main St. in Glastonbury at 5:00 p.m.
