NEWS ALERT: National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre broke his group’s silence about the Newtown killings Friday by saying armed guards in the schools is the solution to keeping children safe.

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” LaPierre said.

His organization offered to helping every school in America develop a security system that includes armed personnel.

In his press conference concluded minutes ago, LaPierre made no mention of a ban on assault rifles, high-capacity magazines or any other possible measures identified by President Obama earlier this week.
