OK, so it’s not really a surprise. But this very cool map from WNYC uses Census Data to tell us what we know and make it look pretty awesome. Click here for an interactive version.

The really purple areas show unlucky commuters traveling an average of 45 minutes, give or take. The lightest-colored areas represent commute times of around 20 minutes or less. Interestingly, the Hartford and New Haven areas are not as bad as I thought. It’s really 95-South between Milford and New York that the problem begins.
