Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and his wife, Cathy, leave Wednesday for a bit of pleasure and politics on Nantucket, where the Democratic Governors Association is holding its “governor’s cabinet retreat” from Thursday through Sunday.

The governor and first lady will return to Connecticut on Sunday.

The event is hosted by Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin, the chairman of the DGA. He is not totally shunning his homestate hospitality industry. From Sept. 6 to 8, he hosting the “chair’s retreat” in Manchester Village, Vermont.
