Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has named former state Sen. Eileen Daily, D-Westbrook, to the Connecticut Siting Council.

The panel has jurisdiction over the siting of power plants, transmission lines, hazardous waste facilities and telecommunications infrastructure. Members are paid $200 per meeting.

Daily, who was the co-chairwoman of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, did not seek re-election in 2012.
