Washington – Dan Debicella, a Republican businessman who is trying to unseat Rep. Jim Himes, D-4th District, disclosed Thursday he received fundraising help from conservative firebrand Rep. Virginia Foxx.
The Debicella campaign said Foxx campaigned for Debicella last week in Westport, appearing at a fundraising event at the home of Westport Selectman Avi Kaner.
“Dan Debicella is a commonsense problem solver, who has laid out concrete plans to grow the middle class, create more jobs, fix our transportation mess and control healthcare costs.” said Foxx in a statement.
Foxx is known for her sharp attacks on the Affordable Care Act and loyalty to conservative values. “The non-partisan magazine National Journal ranked Foxx the most conservative member of the North Carolina Congressional Delegation and more conservative than 91.3 percent of all House members,” Foxx’s web site biography says.
Debicella has earned a “Young Gun” rating from the National Republican Congressional Committee, which means he’s considered a top challenger and deserving of GOP help in his campaign.
