A hyper-busy Congress accomplished this week much of what it wasn’t able to do all year.
WASHINGTON – U.S. Reps. John Larson, Elizabeth Esty, Rosa DeLauro and Joe Courtney split from their party leaders Thursday in voting for a tax package that would make permanent a research and development tax break benefiting many Connecticut companies and tax credits to help low-income families.
Washington – After a lot of wrangling and a veto threat from the White House, the U.S. House of Representatives finally voted on Wednesday for a bill that would extend dozens of tax breaks — with the support of the entire Connecticut House delegation.
WASHINGTON – Rep. John Larson, D-1st District, abandoned his party and defied a White House veto threat Friday by voting for a tax bill he co-sponsored and has promoted for years. But he has also voted against the measure.
