Former state Rep. Elizabeth Esty, D-Cheshire, reported today that her congressional campaign has raised $340,000 in the three-month period ending June 30, giving her $900,000 cash on hand six weeks before the Aug. 14 Democratic primary. She now has raised $1.5 million.

Esty is one of three Democrats trying to succeed U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy, D-5th District, who is running for the U.S. Senate. House Speaker Christopher G. Donovan, D-Meriden, and Dan Roberti have not yet released their numbers for the second quarter of 2012.

As of midday, the full report was not yet available on the website of the Federal Election Commission.
