UConn/Courant poll gives Murphy lead within margin of error
Another poll, another conclusion that the U.S. Senate race is close.
A University of Connecticut/Hartford Courant poll released today shows Democrat Chris Murphy with a lead over Republican Linda McMahon that is within the survey’s margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points. He leads, 37 percent to 33 percent.
“Right now, this is anyone’s race,” said Jennifer Dinnee, the poll’s director. “Both candidates need to focus on that large number of undecided voters if they want to open up a lead going into the home stretch.”
Other recent polls have given McMahon a slight edge.
The poll of 517 likely voters found 48 percent of unaffiliated voters undecided, as were 17 percent of Republicans and 27 percent of Democrats.
