Connecticut Republicans confirmed Tuesday that their 2014 statewide ticket will be chosen at the Mohegano Sun resort and casino.

Let the jokes begin.

(No, they are not going to roll the dice or cut the cards if there is a tie vote.)

The GOP will meet May 16 and 17 at the casino’s convention center to nominate candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of the state, comptroller, treasurer and attorney general. The convention has generally been held in Hartford at venues such as the Civic Center, Bushnell and Connecticut Convention Center.

From the party’s statement:

“The Connecticut Republican Party is excited to partner with Mohegan Sun, one of the world’s most amazing destinations, for this momentous event. The Mohegan Sun Convention Center features over 100,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 38,000 square foot Uncas Ballroom which will host Saturday’s statewide nominations. Mohegan Sun is an integral part of Connecticut’s tourism industry and one of our state’s largest private employers, with over 10,000 local employees.”
