President Obama will join Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and the governors of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain on Wednesday to promote raising the minimum wage.
Limited tickets will be offered to the public Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Detrick Gymnasium in Kaiser Hall at 1615 Stanley St., New Britain. One ticket per person will be distributed while available.
Doors will open Wednesday at 11:30 in the gymnasium.
Malloy, who was on a White House press call Sunday with Govs. Lincoln Chaffee of Rhode Island and Peter Shumlin Vermont to promote the visit, has proposed raising Connecticut’s minimum wage to $10.10 in phases by January 2017.
A Quinnipiac University poll on Malloy’s re-election and the minimum wage is expected to be released Wednesday.
Update: Quinnipiac says its poll will be out Tuesday.
