Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will be in Washington D.C. through Monday for the winter meeting of the National Governors Association, a security briefing by the FBI and meetings at the White House with President Obama.

FRIDAY: 

Malloy co-chairs a meeting of the Council of Governors at the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters with Jeh Johnson, the secretary of Homeland Security, and leaders of the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice and the White House.

Malloy and other governors will meet with Obama at the White House, with a news conference to follow at 5:30 p.m.

 SATURDAY:

Malloy will attend the plenary session of the NGA’s winter meeting and chair a meeting of the Natural Resources Committee.  

SUNDAY:

 Malloy will chair a meeting of the Coalition of Northeastern Governors.

He and other governors later will receive a classified threat briefing at the FBI.

In the evening, Malloy and other governors will attend a reception with Obama at the White House.

 MONDAY:

Malloy will attend the closing session of the NGA meeting.

He and other governors will meet with the president at the White House, followed by a press conference at 12:30 p.m.

At 2 p.m., Malloy will participate in a panel discussion at the Newseum Knight Conference Center on the topic of leadership in times of crisis. The host is Jeh Johnson, secretary of Homeland Security.

Malloy returns to Connecticut in the evening.
