WASHINGTON — Rep. Rosa DeLauro will be among about 20 other lawmakers, most of them Democrats, to visit Cuba with President Obama, when he makes his historic trip to the island next week.

WASHINGTON – Before the Cuban Revolution brought on the U.S. economic embargo on the island about 55 years ago, Cuba’s world-class cigars were often wrapped in special tobacco leaves grown in Connecticut. Connecticut farmers want access to that market again, and Sen. Chris Murphy wants to help them get it.
Washington – Back from a nearly week-long congressional trip to Cuba and other Caribbean points, U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro said she was optimistic about President Obama’s opening to the island, but realizes the thaw in relations is limited.
