State Comptroller Kevin P. Lembo has qualified for public financing for his re-election effort this year, the Guilford Democrat’s campaign announced Tuesday.
Lembo raised more than $75,000 – the threshold to secure public financing in the comptroller’s race – from more than 1,500 contributors. This will enable him to obtain more than $750,000 in public financing.
“It has been an honor to travel the state for the past few months, talking with residents about my accomplishments as state comptroller and engaging in a conversation about the future of Connecticut and my plans for a second term,” said Lembo, who was Connecticut’s healthcare advocate for six years before being elected comptroller in November 2010. “I am gratified and humbled by the support I have received from such a wide range of individuals.”
