WASHINGTON – As part of a ramped-up gun safety campaign, Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy and U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty have asked the Connecticut Food Association to implement a gun “open carry” ban in the state’s retail stores. “Customers should feel safe while shopping,” the lawmakers said.

RGA spending to defeat Malloy tops $2.1 million
The Republican Governors Association has put another $610,020 into its campaign to unseat first-term Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, raising its total spending in Connecticut above $2.1 million for 2014, according to a filing early Saturday with the State Elections Enforcement Commission.
