Preliminary testing indicates that the Yale doctoral student admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital with Ebola-like symptoms does not have the deadly virus. While awaiting the results, officials sought to emphasize the efforts to prepare in case someone in Connecticut contracts Ebola virus — while also trying to reassure people that the risk of infection is low.

Esty, Himes top House fundraisers
Washington – Rep. Elizabeth Esty, D-5th District, has raised more campaign money than any member of Connecticut’s congressional delegation, an analysis of the latest reports filed with the Federal Elections Commission show.
Esty raised a little more than $2.5 million as of Sept. 30. Rep. Jim Himes, D-4th District, raised a little less than $2.5 million.

Debicella takes in $1 million, but falls short of Himes’ fundraising
WASHINGTON– Shelton businessman Dan Debicella, a Republican, has raised more than $1 million in his efforts to oust Rep. Jim Himes, D-4th District. But Himes has outpaced his rival, having pulled in about $2.5 million in campaign funds as of Sept. 30, according to the candidates’ latest quarterly filings with the Federal Elections Commission.

Courtney continues to outpace Hopkins-Cavanagh in fundraising
Washington – Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, has raised about $1.2 in his race against Republican candidate Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh, whose latest filing with the Federal Elections Commission show her campaign has raised $84,400, most of it from her own pocket.
