FBI report splits Congress along party lines; Blumenthal calls it a ‘cover up’

WASHINGTON – The finished FBI investigation of sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has deepened the divisiveness in Congress. Sen. Richard Blumenthal called the probe “a whitewash” and Sen. Chris Murphy has determined Kavanaugh “is the most dangerous nominee to the Supreme Court in a lifetime.” Meanwhile Republican senators say the FBI’s probe fails to corroborate any of the sexual assault allegations against the judge.

Attorneys for Kavanaugh’s Yale accuser worry FBI ‘is not conducting a serious investigation.’

Washington – A lawyer for former Connecticut resident Deborah Ramirez, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her in a Yale dorm room, said the FBI conducted a “detailed and productive interview” Sunday of his client. Blumenthal, other Dems, reject scheduling of Friday vote on Kavanaugh

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans have scheduled a vote on Supreme Court candidate Brett Kavanaugh for Friday morning, just one day after he and sexual assault accuser Christine Blasey Ford are due to testify before the lawmakers. The scheduling of the vote provoked Democrats on the panel, including Sen.
